The Suggestive Function

The 5th function of Model A is the Suggestive function, also known as the 'Dual-seeking' function. It is the impressionable but sensitive part of the psyche that needs hands-on support from others in order to feel fulfilled. It looks to outsource itself to others but can cause great damage if entrusted to the wrong person.

The Suggestive function is defined by the following dichotomies:

  1. Public vs Private
  2. Strong vs Weak
  3. Valued vs Neglected
  4. Obvious vs Subtle
  5. Constant vs Variable
  6. Stubborn vs Flexible
  7. Demanding vs Supplying

It forms the Superid block with the Mobilising function.

It forms the Distraction transition with the Ignoring function.

It forms the Struggle dynamic with the Role function.
